Rehabilitation & Therapy Livery
Rehabilitating your horse post injury is a very time-consuming task when done properly. We are able to help with the initial therapy after injury and also with the rehabilitation process of helping your horse back into work again.
We can work closely with your Vet, Physio, Chiropractor, Farrier and other Equine Sports Science Professionals to create a bespoke package to suit your horse's specific needs. There is a standard base livery rate for all day to day care and then the bespoke package will depend on which services your horse needs and how regularly they need them.
Please email laura@lauraschroter.com for the full price list and to discuss your horse.
Water Treadmill
The water treadmill is hugely beneficial for Rehabilitation and for continued preformance. Please see the main Water Treadmill page for the full details on how this can benefit your horse.
Activo-Med Combi Pro II
The Combi Pro II rug is a dual therapy rug, combining powerful Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy (PEMF) with deep massage. It covers the main muscle groups in the horse from poll to tail. It is excellent for horses in rehabilitation, or with specific stiffnesses, injuries or general maintenance.
Walking
Controlled walking is the vital part of bringing your horse back into work post injury or from any time off. We can either use our horse walker or walk the horses in hand or on the long reins, following a strict programme of increasing the minutes walking by the day and week.
TheraPlate
Vortex Wave Circulation Therapy. Please see the main TheraPlate page for the full details on how this can benefit your horse in their rehabiliation and performance.
Whirlpool Boots
These boots are extremely effective in applying cold water therapy to horses' legs. With the lower limb fully submerged in ice and water, every part of the limb is cooled unlike in your standard ice boot. Also very beneficial for cooling feet. We have an ice machine for a constant supply that is easily added to the water to lower the temperature.
Stable stretches/In-hand exercises
Guided by your horse's physio/chiropractor/other equine science professional we can go through recommended stable stretches and activation exercises. This can be beneficial to horses on box rest to help maintain mobility and posture, as well as horses in their rehabilitation programme and those that are in full work.
